The Originals Blog Tour & Giveaway

Today we’re excited to celebrate the upcoming release of The Originals: The Resurrection with an ode to our favorite maniacal Mikaelson, Klaus! Make sure to scroll down and enter the fab giveaway, and check out the rest of the stops on the blog tour put on by the lovely folks at Kismet Book Tours.

Why We Love Klaus Mikaelson

He’s a pretty dangerous Original, not only damn near impossible to kill, but a hybrid werewolf/vampire.

His siblings try to stick beside him over the centuries, but he can’t help but make their lives difficult (that is, when he hasn’t daggered them to wait out a few decades as punishment). Klaus is the first to admit he has issues.

While he prefers blood, Klaus can appreciate the finer beverages when necessary (and he always looks equal parts psycho and stylish while doing it).

Klaus always has his sights set on ultimate power, whether he’s bringing terror to Mystic Falls, or maneuvering in his old stomping grounds, New Orleans. Wherever Klaus is, drama and a body count follows.

He has his own unique way of dealing with conflict.

Despite being psychotic and sadistic, he can still deliver the swoon, and somehow we’re always rooting for him to find true love, whether with Caroline, Camille, or Vivianne (KLAROLINE FOREVER).

Also, we pretty much melt when his paternal instincts with baby Hope trump his psychotic instincts.

But that doesn’t mean he can’t turn into a monster in a heartbeat, and bring serious terror.

You do NOT want to get on his bad side. The guy can hold a grudge like nobody’s business.

Somehow, no matter how evil and dastardly Klaus gets, we can’t help but love him. He just makes everything more fun!

About The Originals:

Family is power. The Original Vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago. They pledged to remain together always and forever. But even when you’re immortal, promises are hard to keep.

The Rise (Book 1):
Arriving in New Orleans in 1722, Original vampire siblings Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah Mikaelson believe they’ve escaped their dangerous past. But the city is lawless, a haven for witches and werewolves unwilling to share territory. The siblings are at their mercy, especially after Klaus meets the beautiful and mysterious Vivianne. Her impending marriage is key to ending the war between the supernatural factions—and Klaus’s attraction to her could destroy the uneasy alliance. As Elijah works toward securing a piece of the city for his family, and Rebekah fights her unexpected feelings for a French captain, will Klaus’s volatile desires bring their world crashing down—and tear them apart for good?

The Loss (Book 2):
After a hurricane destroyed their city, Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah Mikaelson have rebuilt New Orleans to even greater glory. The year is 1766. The witches live on the fringes in the bayou. The werewolves have fled. But still, Klaus isn’t satisfied. He wants more. He wants power. But when Klaus finally finds a witch who will perform a spell to give him what he desires most, she secretly uses Klaus to unleash a curse—one that brings back hundreds of her ancestors—and begins a war to reclaim New Orleans. As the siblings fight off the attack, only one thing’s for certain—the result will be a bloodbath.

The Resurrection (Book 3):

Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah Mikaelson had won it all, only to lose it again by 1788. Control of New Orleans is split between the vampires and the werewolves, much to Klaus’s displeasure.

In a dangerous attempt to reclaim his home, Klaus decides to build a vampire army to take out the werewolves once and for all. If he can’t have love, then he’ll settle for power. Elijah lets his brother take the reins as he turns his attentions to a beautiful and mysterious witch. But Rebekah has had enough of her brothers’ love of bloodshed and begins a journey to find her first home and the key to her family’s immortality.

As the battles rages on, the siblings must come together and fight for what they believe in most: family.

It’s hard not to love Klaus! I think Joseph Morgan has done a fabulous job as Klaus!

Ummmmm. I think I will always forgive him too when he asks like that 😉 I need more of him in my life!

Thanks so much for being a part of the tour:) <3

Love this! And as much as I always want to hate Klaus I just can’t because of those tender moments he has every now and then!

I am so ready for The Resurrection!

I have never read/watching TVD, nor do I have any knowledge on what it’s about. Hah! I do love the logo/title for THE ORIGINALS, however, and, well, Klaus is not too bad to look at 😉

I keep seeign this around and I have to admit I am curious, I know nothing about the show. I feel like sometimes I have my head in a hole because I am so behind on tv.

    Susan T.

I love to hate Klaus. He’s so cute yet does such horrible things! I am rooting for him and Caroline though!

I haven’t watched the show yet but one of these days I’ll fit some in. I might read the books though, that’s actually a little easier for me. I don’t watch much television.

I’m behind on the tv show. I just can never catch it. You are so right about Klaus and I love this post! I read the first 2 books and I need to read this one as well.

    never saw this show before

    >Not a series I have watched, or read

Ooh, gotta love a good anti-hero. Klaus sounds like someone I’d enjoy hating.

    Sui generis

Wonderful giveaway! Thabks for the chance!

I absolutely love The Originals. Klaus is such an amazing character and he always surprises you. 🙂 Thank you for doing this incredible giveaway! xx

I have been wanting to read this series for awhile now, thanks so much for the chance to win!

    Kai W.

Klaus can hold grudge indefinitely. He doesn’t forgive or forget easily.

Can’t wait to see who wins this one. 😀
