Whether you think Gary Ross’s version of The Hunger Games was excellent, pretty good, or holy gawd awful, you’d probably be curious to see what other directors would have done with this beloved dystopian novel.

Slashfilm uncovered an impressive director video audition from Kevin Tancharoen (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, Fame). Tancharoen cobbled together footage from multiple sci-fi/fantasy films to create a dark, sci-fi heavy Panem and Games to present to Lionsgate, fantasy casting Kaya Scoledario as Katniss, Gaspard Ulliel as Gale, and Zac Efron as Peeta.

While Lionsgate ultimately went with Ross’s vision, it is fun to take a peek at what might have been!

I hated Gary Ross’s version to a degree, but I think while this clip is amazing it’s more savage Than the books. Although the flying mockingjay at the end was awesome and super creative, I think that was my favorite part.

I agree! That Mockingjay was so cool! I liked Gary Ross’s version, but this is definitely impressive too.
