Booklolz: School of Thrones, Stephen Colbert & James Franco’s Tolkien Showdown & more!

Posted 03/19/2013 by alicemarvels in Spoofs

A new Game of Thrones spoof, School of Thrones takes the Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens and Greyjoys and transports them to Westeros high school, as cliquish teens hellbent on becoming Prom King. Prom Night is Coming…..(I know, HOW do you not use Winter Formal is Coming???)

Episode two really brings it by giving Tyrion Lannister his very own Regina George moment.

Just in case you’re not quite sick of Harlem Shake videos, here is Debra Driza getting her Mila 2.0 Harlem Shake on at her San Marcos Library launch event.

Stephen Colbert interviewed James Franco, and basically schooled him in all things Tolkien, as he typically does. The Tolkien showdown begins at 5:21.

Lemony Snicket’s The Dark takes us back to that vulnerable age when the dark was a living, terrifying thing:

50 Shades of Grey author E.L. James is writing an advice journal with tips for writers. Let that sink in.  Presumably she’s uncover the secrets of slipping in as many “holy cow!”s and mentions of your inner goddess as humanly possible, because those are her master strokes.

In other 50 Shades of Grey hilarity, Emma Watson finally responds to the rumors that she’ll take on Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation.

Designer Christophe Gowans wondered what if some of his favorite best-selling albums had been books instead, and he created their covers and synopses. Click below to check them all out:

I love the School of Thrones!! It’s hilarious! Theon is such a punk.

And Emma Watson is too cute and so down-to-earth. Most excellent sarcastic tweets.

    Ha! Good for Emma.

BTW that is officially my favorite Harlem Shake!

I do not know if I should laugh or cry that James is writing a book like that

This is such a great post! I LOVE the Abbey Road book cover, I would read that (and what a clever concept!)

I only heard of this Harlem Shake business recently, but I do think the book launch idea is fun and so cool of them all to join in!

    Emma’s tweets are awesome 🙂
