Daniel Handler sat for an interview with Publisher’s Weekly to discuss his unique relationship with Lemony Snicket, the future of publishing and e-books, and to humblebrag about his successes, such as this:

“I’ve been through puberty. (I don’t mean to brag.)”

Denny’s is taking inspiration from Middle-earth for their menu, rolling out Hobbit inspired dishes to appeal to all second-breakfasters. Starting on Nov. 6, customers can enjoy eleven plates and sides, including “Shire Sausage,” Gandalf’s Gobble Melt,” “Hobbit Hole Breakfast” and  “Frodo’s Pot Roast Skillet.”

I’ve just had my very first urge to eat at Denny’s, so well done, marketing people.

Claudia Kishi, serial babysitter and perhaps the greatest fashion icon in YA lit, has spawned at least two fashion blogs (Claudiavore and What Claudia Wore), and now she has her very own fancy twitter hashtag game.

When people lovingly tweet their outfits (like Claudia lovingly relates her leggings, oversized shirts, and funky earrings in every Baby Sitters Club book), they tag it #kishi.

Par example:

Internet, I love you.

Mergepocalypse? Random House and Penguin are in talks to join forces, setting loose a twitterstorm of speculation and spawning this fabulous Random Penguin meme:

You know we love a good Hunger Games parody. So we couldn’t be more thrilled that The Starving Games, an actual full length feature parody from the team that brought you Date Movie and Vampires Suck, is coming together. Maiara Walsh (Vampire Diaries) has been cast in the role of Kantmiss Evershot, and Brant Daugherty (Pretty Little Liars) in the so far unnamed role that corresponds to Gale.

Finally, this hilarious Funny Or Die video features Alfred Molina as a harsh children’s theater critic, who is impressed by almost nothing…except a stunning adaptation of Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar:
