“Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”
by Tame Impala

It feels like I only go backwards, baby
Every part of me says go ahead
I got my hopes up again, oh no, not again
Feels like we only go backwards, darling.
I know that you think you sound silly
When you call my name
But I hear it inside my head all day
When I realize I’m just holding on to the hope
That maybe your feelings don’t show
It feels like I only go backwards, baby
Every part of me says go ahead
Then I got my hopes up again, oh no, not again
Feels like we only go backwards darling.
The seed of all this indecision isn’t me, oh no
Cause I decided long ago.
But that’s the way it seems to go when trying,
So hard to to get to something real, it feels

Giselle L. says:

In The Indigo Spell, Adrian has declared his feelings for Sydney, but she doesn’t want more, and wants them to just be friends. But in the beginning it’s too hard, so they stay away from each other, and it’s like they have to go backwards, to before they were even friends. But Adrian decides to just be her friend, and not push her, and he hopes that she feels the same way but just isn’t showing it.

Awesome bookjam, Giselle, thanks for sending!
