I’m so excited to be hosting Kendare Blake today! Given that her book, ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD, gave me serious heebie jeebies, I really wanted to know which books scare her, so she kindly agreed to dish on a few.

About Anna Dressed in Blood

Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story…

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead. So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to
kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the
country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they
follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping
pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed
in Blood, Cas doesn’t expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill.
What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s
never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal
murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her
death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the
deserted Victorian she used to call home. And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

All of those scary books are new to me so it looks like I’ll have some to keep in mind when I need a good scare. I have heard of “It”. I love scary movies (not the gory kind) but have a tendency to close my eyes when the cue music comes on. However, with books I can’t do that and the visuals can be terifying and you can’t escape them since they’re in your head.

I watched Stephen’s King It when I was little and it terrified me, I’m afraid of clowns now :(

So I read a lot of thriller but not a lot of horror so my most scary ghost Is a dog with a psychopaths brain.

I love the ghosts from Charlie St. Cloud. I honestly think that I like the idea of it more than the ghosts themselves, those you love being able to reach out to you one last time. And of course those who need help as well.
I don’t read a lot of other books with ghosts in them, and usually they aren’t likeable when I do read them. It makes me a bit excited for this book, which is on my to-read list but I unfortunately have not gotten to yet, perfect for the giveaway!

Thank you for this great contest!

I would have to say Fabian from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Series. Fabian is mostly ignored by all who can see him until Cat and Bones come along. Cat sort of ‘adopts’ him and he helps her out. Since most vampires ignore ghosts, he’s able to get them information that they normally wouldn’t be able to get. I loved his role in the newest installment, One Grave At A Time. I certainly hope we see more of this ghost in the later books!
