About A SCHOOL FOR UNUSUAL GIRLS:

A SCHOOL FOR UNUSUAL GIRLS by Kathleen BaldwinIt’s 1814. Napoleon is exiled on Elba. Europe is in shambles. Britain is at war on four fronts. And Stranje House, a School for Unusual Girls, has become one of Regency England’s dark little secrets. The daughters of the beau monde who don’t fit high society’s constrictive mold are banished to Stranje House to be reformed into marriageable young ladies. Or so their parents think. In truth, Headmistress Emma Stranje, the original unusual girl, has plans for the young ladies—plans that entangle the girls in the dangerous world of spies, diplomacy, and war.
After accidentally setting her father’s stables on fire while performing a scientific experiment, Miss Georgiana Fitzwilliam is sent to Stranje House. But Georgie has no intention of being turned into a simpering, pudding-headed, marriageable miss. She plans to escape as soon as possible—until she meets Lord Sebastian Wyatt. Thrust together in a desperate mission to invent a new invisible ink for the English war effort, Georgie and Sebastian must find a way to work together without losing their heads—or their hearts…

This so sounds like my kind of read and I love all the characters she mentioned, how could I not?
    Great guest post!

  2.

Aw, this is so awesome! I’m not sure what it means if the main character could be friends with both Tris and Hermione… Maybe it means that she’s passionate, caring and determined? 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Alice!

  3.

YEAH HERMIONE!!! I couldn’t love her more if I tried. I like to think we’d be friends if she were real 😉 Ditto everyone else on this list though I’m not as familiar with them other than Tris!

  4.

This is a lovely giveaway! Thanks so much for the chance to win a copy of the book ^_^

  5.

Hermione and Tris are too of my favorites, as well! Unfortunately, I haven’t read the others, so I’m not familiar with them. And I LOVE the cover for A SCHOOL FOR UNUSUAL GIRLS! So pretty.

  6.

Ah yes, I love Hermione as well

  7.

Hermione obviously belongs on every list of favorite characters ever. She is just amazing. I love most of the others too, obviously, although I’m not that fond of Divergent or Tris. I think my own favorite would be Puck from The Scorpio Races. I just adore that girl.

  8.

Oh yes, I loved all of those up there. Some great picks. I think Jo was one of my all time favorite heriones, but I still haven’t gotten over that she didn’t pick Teddy.

  9.

That would be one cool school

Aww, Anne Shirley. She totally cracks me up! And a definite yes to Hermione, a favorite character from HP for sure. 🙂 Can’t wait to read this!

Awesome post 🙂 I always love when a post is something different and gives a picture before you start the book. Thank you for the chance to win <3

  13.

This book sounds really good, especially because I don’t think I have ever read any book set in the early 1800s, and definitely not one set on Elba! And Georgie’s favorite characters are great choices too 😉
