The cast of The Mortal Instruments was on hand for the Toronto International Film Festival, and Lily Collins took time out to sit with MTV to discuss the film.
In this clip, Lily talks about how director Harald Zwart brings an emotional punch to the film:
She also praises Jamie Campbell Bower’s portrayal of Jace, saying he kicks major ass!

Why does it seem like everyone feels the need to defend Jamie as Jace? Lily keeps on talking about it, and that whole JamieisJace campaign. It seems like someone is insecure about the casting choices.
Probably because there are so many haters! I think Jamie is fine as Jace, but a lot of people don’t.
I’m one of those haters….but I’m coming around. After I saw the picture you guys posted of Jamie, I kind of see it now. I was rooting for Alex Pettyfer though. I wish he had wanted to do it. I’m sure Jamie will be great, it’s just, not what I expected at all.
But I do love that the fans are so passionate and want to support Jamie. The hashtag was really sweet imo. And Lily is obviously going to defend Jamie because aren’t they together? She’d be a pretty bad gf if she didn’t.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited for this movie! I really think(based on the pictures and interviews) that we’ll all be really happy with it! I wish it was coming out sooner, but I guess I’ll just have to settle for little teases like this. I think this movie is going to get as much attention as the Hunger Games, and yeah, some people are still going to be unhappy with it, just like with THG, but there are going to be just as many if not more who love it.
Well, I just loved the book! I mean.. hail..hail! That Jamie should better be awesome… (pr nothing!) Excited!!!
