Wes Ball to Direct The Maze Runner

Fox has found its director for the film adaptation of James Dashner’s The Maze Runner.

After talks with Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) fell through, the studio is pressing on with newcomer Wes Ball, known primarily for a popular festival short, Ruin.

To get a sense of his style, check out the trailer for Ruin:

(Of course his prior work doesn’t have to be at all Glade-like for him to be a good fit for the movie, but the fact that this trailer does remind me of the Glade is VERY reassuring.)

Now that a director is in place we can start feverishly casting a Thomas, Newt, Minho, Teresa, Chuck and the rest of the Gladers!
