Mortal Instruments Casting News: Meet Valentine Morgenstern
The casting gods have certainly been smiling on The Mortal Instruments movie lately. Yet another gorgeous and talented actor joins the growing pack of Shadowhunters and Downworlders. And this character is a BIGGIE.
Valentine Morgenstern, Clary’s father and the enemy of every decent Shadowhunter on Idris and Earth, is going to be played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Match Point), a guy whose brooding face can be both evil AND sexy. This guy is all about the villains lately—he was also recently cast in an upcoming NBC TV series based on Dracula, playing the count.
In other casting news, we also have a Brother Jeremiah in actor Stephen R. Hart. Since his face is going to be severely made over to transform into a Silent Brother, this pic really isn’t going to hint at the final character appearance, but oh well.

I don’t know about him as Valentine. He’s younger than I thought he’d be for some reason. I mean he’s a great actor, I just always imagined someone older?
Well i think he’s the same age as jocelyn and luke right? so he has to be kind of younger.
