Mortal Instruments Casting News: Aidan Turner, CCH Pounder and Kevin Zegers Join Cast
The Mortal Instruments movie casting anxiety is nearly over—we finally have actors for Luke and Alec, and we get a Madame Dorothea casting cherry on top! (Ok, ok, we STILL need a Valentine, but let’s just revel in this casting handsomeness for awhile).
Aidan Turner (Being Human, The Hobbit) will take on the role of Luke Garroway, NYC werewolf pack leader and Clary’s substitute father, according to Cassandra Clare.
Very good muscled werewolf-in-human-form impression, Aidan!
CCH Pounder (Warehouse 13, The Shield) will play Clary’s downstairs neighbor and Brooklyn witch-in-disguise, Madame Dorothea.
If you’ve ever seen CCH act in anything, you know she is crazy-talented and will make the most of this supporting role.
Lastly, we FINALLY have confirmation that handsome-sauce Kevin Zegers (Gossip Girl, Jane Austen Book Club) has been cast as Alec Lightwood. And can we just say, WELL FREAKING DONE to the casting powers-that-be!

Wow. Just wow. Love Alec, but I think I might love Luke more…..was he supposed to be this hot in the books? i feel like he was old and dadlike. This is innappropriate hotness and i like it.
