Mockingjay Split Into Two Movies

Mark your calendars for a revolution! Then, after a seriously pregnant pause, more revolution!

Lionsgate announced today that Mockingjay, the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy, would be adapted into two films. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will release worldwide November 21, 2014, followed by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 on November 20, 2015.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire releases November 22, 2013.

UPDATE: apparently due to the tight production schedule, Lionsgate is seeking a new director for the final two installments in the movie series.
