Anna Karenina Trailer
If you’re like me then you have already logged an embarrassing number of hours watching the Keira Knightley version of Pride & Prejudice. Focus Features, director Joe Wright, and Keira seem to have a knack for turning literary classics into crack cocaine cinema. Good news – you’re about to get another fix! They’re teaming up again to bring Anna Karenina to the big screen, with Keira taking on the title role. Starring alongside her will be Jude Law in the role of Aleksei Karenin, her husband, and Aaron Johnson as Count Vronsky. A constellation of British film stars will round out the cast, including Matthew MacFadyen (!!), aka Darcy to my fellow Pride-hards.
Although you should not expect the same happy “alls-well” ending of P&P (in Focus/Joe/Keira parlance, this will be more of an Atonement-style ending), it will make for a beautiful film in such capable hands.

The poster has been released as well. I do love it, but am I crazy or does it not mention the AUTHOR of the novel anywhere? Maybe I need goggle-glasses.

Cant wait for the Joe Wright-style panning shots. He always has like a 5 min long epic shot through a house or something. So awesome. Plus he def gets the best out of Keira

I love Tolstoy and I love Anna Karenina! I read it in a week, it was just so captivating. I hope Joe Wright has done a good job with this film…I may have to see it and find out!
