The Mortal Instruments Movie: Meet Isabelle Lightwood
I was all set to dub 2012 the year of the great Mortal Instruments movie news drought, but Cassandra Clare just dropped this casting news, so drought=over.
Meet Jemima West, aka Isabelle Lightwood, whip-slinging Shadowhunter and tough chick extraordinaire! She can currently be seen playing Vittoria on The Borgias. I think she’s got the Izzy look, and Cassie is clearly pleased, saying “she had a lot of Izzy’s toughness and directness in her audition.”
Jemima joins a cast that already includes Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Lightwood, and Lily Collins as Clary Fray. Cassie also has casting news about Izzy’s brother, Alec Lightwood, but she is holding off on reporting at the request of the studio.
All she will reveal for the moment is “our Alec may well be a lot more known to you. He’s British, and…I’ll tell you who he is in the next post.”

ooooh! I love her! I haven’t seen the borgias, but she looks just like I think Izz should!!
I think she’ll be great! She has the look. And if she seemed tough in the auditions, then I’m cool with it.

well by the record i have so much respect for Jamie Campbell Bower…but I don’t think he’s my Jace at all. Sorry no disrespect to those who like him as Jace. I think he does a great Job in The Twilight Saga and Camelot..but totally not my Jace….

I also reeeeeeally want hoult for alec!! He’s on my cast list after i saw this awesome youtube video with him as Alec. Jemima looks great. I haven’t seen her act, but I’m sure she’s good if she’s on the Borgias.
