Big Brother is coming to the big screen again! A new film adaptation of George Orwell’s dystopian classic, 1984, is in the works at Imagine Entertainment. Noah Oppenheim (The Secret Life of Houdini) is charged with adapting the script, with Brian Grazer, Julie Yorn, and Rick Yorn producing.

There are two notable prior film versions of 1984: the 1956 version with Edmond O’Brien starring as Winston and Jan Sterling as Julia, and the 1984 version with John Hurt playing Winston, and Suzanna Hamilton as Julia.

It’s no surprise given the recent fascination with dystopian stories that this classic would be mined again by studios for film glory.

It was just a matter of time before they remade this. I mean, the hunger games is so popular! I’m suprised it didn’t happen sooner.
