Catching Fire: Finnick Casting Down to Three
The role of Finnick Odair, aka the most anticipated casting decision for the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, is still the subject of intense speculation. We’ve seen controversy, and “holy WTF!?” rumors galore.
According to E!, the casting decision for Finnick is nearing finalization by Lionsgate, and the choices have been wittled down to these three: Garrett Hedlund (On the Road), Armie Hammer (Mirror Mirror), and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights).
However, they’ve also heard whispers that the casting director is contemplating going with an unknown.
Lionsgate isn’t willing to pitch in and confirm or deny casting information, so this will remain a rumor for the moment. But at least casting execs are in the zipcode of the ballpark (aka wherever Rob Pattinson is nowhere to be found) this time with potential choices, though I’d love to see Jesse Williams still in the mix.
UPDATE: Producer Nina Jacobson has squashed all Finnick casting rumors. So fantasy cast yourself silly, it’s all on the table again.

I am totally behind Taylor Kitsch. He’s perfect for the role! Look at him in FNL, look at him in John Carter. He’s the only one of these guys who is even close to the Finnick in my head.

I Completely agree with you, I really want to see Garrett win it, I also loved him in everything I’ve seen him do (Especially Eragon). Plus, Let’s not forget how amazing he’ll look gliding through the waves to save Peeta. The other guys would look acceptable as Finnick, but I honestly think Garrett would rock the Tide-beaten, Sarcastically sexy fisherman role! <3 :L
