Dylan talked with Collider about Thomas’s entry into the Glade:

“When Thomas gets to the Glade, these people have kind of settled in. They’re sort of surviving, is what they’ve settled into. They’ve built a place to live and they’re trying to make it as comfortable for themselves as they can. When Thomas comes in, he’s just instinctively not about that. To him, surviving isn’t living. They can spend their whole lives in this place, for all they know. But he doesn’t want to do that. He doesn’t want that for anybody else. He wants to get through to them that he’d rather die than have to spend the rest of his life trapped like a prisoner, which is how he feels. That kind of changes the course of everything. It ironically sort of activates the maze and the grievers. What he finds in the maze, a key kind of thing, and he kills a griever. It opens all of the doors, and that’s when things get crazy.”

Thomas & Teresa

These stills show more of Thomas and Teresa’s relationship in the Glade, after her abrupt arrival as the first and only female, and the last Glader.

Digital Spy interviewed Kaya Scodelario, who plays Teresa. She says of her character:

“She’s tough. The one thing I never wanted her to be was the token female who was just scared and everyone was protecting. She doesn’t need protecting. The first time you see her she has a machete, which I think is really cool. She’s tough, she holds her own and she also wants to find answers and she wants to know why she’s here.”

On her relationship with Thomas (Dylan O’Brien):

“I love Dylan. He’s the cutest thing ever. He’s like my little brother. He’s very cool. It’s an interesting relationship between them. There’s no romantic link, they’re two souls who feel a connection to one another but they’re so focused on trying to work out why they’re in this place and why they don’t have any memories of who put them there. They wouldn’t suddenly be like, ‘I love you’.”

Dylan O’Brien discussed Thomas and Teresa’s relationship with IGN, saying:

“We have a connection. We kind of just make each other feel safe in a way. It’s surprisingly unromantic, but I think that’s good. It’s so un-cliché in a perfect way. We don’t have a kiss at the end of the movie. It’s really nice. It’s a companionship.”

Ben’s Banishment

The stills below show a pivotal moment in the movie, when Ben is banished into the Maze:

Director Wes Ball told Latino Review that the banishment scene:

“is going to be freaking intense. It’s going to be really brutal and it’s a scene that almost all the fans… When I first started this movie, I tweeted all the fans and said ‘Hey guys, what are your favorite scenes from the book?’ I made sure all of those scenes are in this movie and Ben’s banishment was one of them.”

This looks like it is going to be sooo good!

  2.

I’m so incredibly excited for this movie! I have major love for Dylan O’Brien that stems from watching him as Stiles on Teen Wolf, so I’m excited to see him in this role! I have the book patiently waiting on my TBR, and I hope to read it before the movie comes out! This is a fantastic post — and those WCKD memos are so intriguing! Thanks so much for sharing!!
